Vocational colleges across Georgia are gradually being equipped with small photovoltaic systems as part of the continuing development of practical solar energy education.

The installations form an integral part of the Solar Colleges approach, combining technical infrastructure with vocational training in the planning, installation and operation of photovoltaic systems.

During a project visit in July, representatives of the Eberhard Schöck Foundation reviewed the progress of PV installations at partner colleges and exchanged with local institutions on the further development of the programme.

The participating network includes Phazisi College, Mermisi College, Modusi College, Aisi College, Kaspi Vocational College, Lakada College, Horizonti College, Iberia College and Ilia Tsinamdzghvrishvili College.

The small photovoltaic systems are designed to serve not only as renewable energy installations, but also as practical learning tools. Students and instructors can use them to connect theoretical knowledge with real equipment and gain experience relevant to the design, installation and operation of solar power systems.

By progressively equipping vocational colleges with practical training infrastructure, the programme is helping establish a broader network of institutions capable of delivering hands-on solar education across Georgia.

The infrastructure rollout complements the project’s training activities and supports the long-term development of skilled specialists for Georgia’s growing solar energy sector.
