Akhali Talga College has a rich history, founded in 1963 as a secondary technical institution in Kobuleti. Over the years, the college has undergone significant development and improvements. In 2012, it was granted the status of a full college after passing the authorization process. This transformation included a substantial upgrade in the training programs and educational resources.
Since its reauthorization in 2016, Akhali Talga College has been authorized to offer 52 educational programs, including nine dual programs, and is currently serving 2,264 students. The college is renowned for its commitment to quality education and actively participates in various projects in Georgia. It has passed the European Model of Quality Management (EFQM) validation, ensuring that its educational standards are aligned with international best practices.
In addition to its academic programs, the college is a recognized leader in innovation, having collaborated with international institutions such as Valga Professional Institution in Estonia and Brillat-Savarin School in Germany to implement student and teacher exchange programs.
Solar Training and Renewable Energy Initiatives
Akhali Talga College is also at the forefront of promoting renewable energy education in Georgia. As part of its commitment to sustainability and energy transition, the college has recently installed a 5 kW solar power system on its campus. This system not only helps to reduce energy costs but also serves as an important teaching tool for students studying renewable energy technologies.
The college offers specialized training courses that equip students with practical skills in the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems. These courses, developed in partnership with EUROSOLAR Georgia and the Eberhard-Schöck Foundation, provide valuable hands-on experience, preparing students for careers in the growing field of renewable energy.
