A five-day training programme for electrical engineering instructors from vocational colleges across Georgia was held at College Phazisi in Poti. The programme focused on the design, measurement, installation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems and combined theoretical instruction with practical exercises using PV modules and specialised solar training equipment.
During the first three days, participants studied the fundamentals of solar energy, system components and measurement methods. The training then moved to full-scale practical work, where participants dismantled and reassembled a 5 kWp ground-mounted photovoltaic system. This exercise gave them direct experience with mounting structures, modules, cabling and other technical components.
The programme brought together instructors from Akhali Talga, Aisi, Horizonti, Lakada, Iberia, Ilia Tsinamdzghvrishvili College, Spektri, Mermisi, Modusi, Kaspi Vocational College, Black Sea, Opizari, Construct2 and Erkvani. It was organised by the Eberhard Schöck Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and hosted by College Phazisi.
By focusing on vocational instructors, the training extends its impact to students across Georgia. The knowledge and practical methods gained during the programme can now be integrated into college courses, helping to strengthen the preparation of future electricians and solar installers.
