Teachers from educational institutions across Georgia and students from College Phazisi have taken part in a five-day practical training programme on photovoltaic systems in Poti.

The training focused on the planning, installation and operation of solar power systems and combined theoretical foundations with hands-on technical exercises led by a solar expert from the Eberhard Schöck Foundation.

A major emphasis of the programme was on practical experience. Participants learned about the composition and assembly of photovoltaic systems and worked directly with solar equipment, helping them connect technical concepts with real installation processes.

The training brought together representatives from a broad range of Georgian educational institutions, including Akhali Talga College, Lakada College, Horizonti College, Iberia College, Erqvani College, Modusi College, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, Georgian Technical University and Shota Meskhia State Teaching University of Zugdidi.

The programme was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.

Beyond developing individual technical skills, the training supports a broader objective: helping vocational education institutions across Georgia introduce and strengthen teaching units dedicated to solar energy.

By equipping teachers as well as vocational students with practical photovoltaic knowledge, the initiative contributes to building local training capacity and expanding access to renewable energy education across the country.
