Practical solar education in Georgia is continuing to expand, with vocational colleges increasingly taking an active role in sharing photovoltaic knowledge and developing their own training capacities.

Following a solar training held in October at Ilia Tsinamdzghvrishvili College in Tsinamdzghvriantkari, the college organised an additional smaller training session to pass on the knowledge gained through the programme.

The session brought together school students from the surrounding area, vocational students from the college’s branch in Tianeti, and other participants interested in photovoltaic technologies. By organising its own follow-up activity, the college was able to extend the impact of the original training beyond its initial group of participants.

At the same time, the Solar Colleges network is continuing to strengthen its practical training infrastructure. Installation work is underway on a 5 kWp demonstration photovoltaic system at College Spectri in Tbilisi.

Demonstration PV systems form an important part of the practical learning environment at participating colleges. They allow students to work with real photovoltaic equipment and connect theoretical lessons with the technical requirements of operating solar installations.

Solar training courses, the provision of basic teaching and learning equipment, and the installation of 5 kWp demonstration photovoltaic systems form the core of the Eberhard Schöck Foundation’s solar education activities in Georgia.

Together, these elements are helping vocational colleges develop the knowledge, equipment and internal capacity needed to provide practical renewable energy education and prepare future specialists for work in the solar sector.
